Our Story

“Saving the world through storytelling”

At StoryValues, our mission is to offer unique live and online storytelling programs for kids, parents and educators. StoryValues develops interactive storytelling programs that enhance literacy and promote positive character development. We are an online educational resource for K-Grade 8 that uses the ancient tradition of storytelling for character development, equity and diversity, multiculturalism, literacy and language development.

Cheryl has been telling stories, myths and folktales for over 20 years in schools, churches, synagogues, libraries and community centres. Specifically, school performances include interactive storytelling programs that support the Ontario curriculum in language, literacy, the arts, character development and social studies. In response to the recent shift, we have built this online storytelling resource called StoryValues that can be used by families at home and by educators in schools and daycares.

We come from a background of art and literature. Cheryl’s love for storytelling began at an early age and is supplemented by a Masters of Fine Arts from NYU. Matthew is an artist and musician with a history of exhibitions as well as an award winning designer and art director. As a team, we have started StoryValues, which provides interactive storytelling performances that teach fundamental values and story-based online programs that build from where the performances leave off.
