The Family Literacy Virtual Assembly

In this 45 minute virtual session, Cheryl retells select classic folktales and offers suggestions for how storytelling can be used at home to increase literacy, strengthen communication skills and deepen student engagement in learning. 

Students actively participate by bringing stories to life through dramatization and providing their own ideas and insights about the meaning of each story. Parents are given practical suggestions that can transform routine family discussion time into expressive and fun storytelling sessions. The program supports  Ontario curriculum is literacy, personal creativity, cultural diversity, character education and communication skills.
