A lazy young man named Jack is told by his mother to either get a job or find his own place to live. He agrees, finding work on a farm. His lazy approach to life results in several comical situations, one of which is seen by the princess. She laughs for the first time in her life, and the king rewards Jack with her hand in marriage.
