Storytelling Assemblies for Elementary Schools
Storyteller Cheryl Thornton has brought her unique interactive storytelling assemblies to literally thousands of schools in Ontario, USA and China.
Students become deeply engaged as they help 'bring stories to life' through dramatic interaction and are encouraged to contribute their own insights in follow up discussions.
Children love stories, they love to create art and they love to sing and dance. With the Storyvalues Kit of Imagination we've joined all three in a combination VIDEO and ACTIVITY KIT subscription product.
Testimonials
Trustworthy presentations that engage children in storytelling, art, music and drama.
Storyvalues was formed in 2007 by visual artist / musician Matthew Giffin and storyteller / educator Cheryl Thornton, MFA.
Since then, over one million users in Canada, Australia and China have benefitted from their curriculum-supportive LIVE and ONLINE programs.
Keeping You Safe
Since the onset of the pandemic, we have made it a priority to reformat our storytelling programs. Our Live Sessionsand Online Courses are available virtually and can be accessed at schools, daycares and at home.
StoryValues brings the same level of engagement and interactivity to online learning, all from the comfort and safety of your chosen environment.
Storyvalues programs are applicable to 17 areas of the Ontario curriculum, including language, arts, social studies and history.
J. McColl, Teacher, Toronto DSB
Storyvalues stories are played over the P.A. Teachers are provided with lesson materials that encourage discussion and follow-up in other curricular areas. This program has been a success; teachers report that their students are excited, attentive and that they look forward to the story each week.
Gray PS, Delta, B.C.
Storyvalues is a fantastic resource that brings together new technologies with traditional stories and is an effective tool for teaching children how to tell their own stories as well.
